But there WAS a surprise...
...when mindymoon and I went to rehearsal on Tuesday evening (Arsenic and Old Lace, FYI). Elora was already there because she had gone with psaltrychic, and I had been warned that she wanted to give me my birthday present. So when I saw her (I'd been participating in a focus group, and hadn't seen her all day), and she said, "Daddy, I have a birthday for you," (actual quote) I told her, "Well, I'll open it tomorrow". Then I get upstairs and see everyone up there, surrounding a table with an Indy Jones tablecloth with a big spread, and they all call out "Happy Birthday!!" And then there were presents. [Eddie Izzard voice] I was SO surprised! :D | | 1:34 pm |
no real surprise here...:) Your result for The Marvel or DC Test... DC Universe
You are a god living among humans. Your power is unmatched, and you are well loved. On the other hand, the ease with which you solve dilemmas can be tedious at times, and if you are a newcomer to this world, you will be confused by the contradictory nature and overwhelming volume of this world's history. You spend most of your time teaming up with Superman, Wonder Woman, and Green Lantern. During crossovers, you'll most likely run into Captain America, The Fantastic Four, or Doctor Strange. What Mythological Creature are you? (Cool Pics!) created with QuizFarm.com |
| You scored as Angel Angel: Angels are the guardians of all things, from the smallest ant to the tallest tree. They give inspiration, love, hope, and positive emotion. They live among humans without being seen. They are the good in all things, and if you feel alone, don't fear. They are always watching. Often times they merely stand by, whispering into the ears of those who feel lost. They would love nothing more then to reveal themselves, but in today's society, this would bring havoc and many unneeded questions. Give thanks to all things beautiful, for you are an Angel.

"How do you solve the problems that are backstage? How do you find your crew and pin them down? How do you show a cast of young and old age They're acting just like a Volkswagen full of clowns?" I have to confess, I was one of those clowns. I like to pride myself on my professionalism as an actor, but I was one of the ones backstage last night who was watching from the wings, when I should have been setting a good example by keeping the hell out of the way of cast and crew who have to haul ass from one stage to another. In past productions, it was arguably not that big a deal, but those shows were not as big and involved as this show. There are too many people, and too many things happening for that. It was unprofessional of me, and I apologize. Now, having copped to that... I wasn't the worst last night. Not by a long shot. mindymoon's stage hands aren't there for her when she needs them; they're too busy messing around, and can't be bothered to listen for when they need to do things. So she has to break land speed records to hunt them all down and get them to do their jobs IN TIME for the next scene to start. She orders the smaller kids to stay downstairs...in one specific room...and they scatter. All around the basement, and even upstairs. Where there's already too many people milling around (see above). This is bad enough. But when mindymoon tries to get them to do what she says...THEY'RE. NOT. LISTENING. She was reduced to tears last night. If things continue, she is doubtful she is capable - physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually - to survive the run-thru tonight, much complete the two-weekend run. I want so much to help her. My God, I want to help. I don't know how I can. I don't know IF I can. I do know that she shouldn't have to be put thru this. I pray that some solutions are found at the Production meeting today. Guess we'll find out. We've been with this company from Day 1. And I've always been proud that we're a part of it. Last night, seeing how devastated mindymood was,...I actually feel ashamed. progress...
I DIDN'T POST AT ALL LAST MONTH?! Yeeeeeesh. Okay, as of today, scale reads 285. Progress continues. Exercise routine got interrupted due to that Mack Truck of a flu bug that's hittin' all of us. Easing myself back into it. That, work, and the show have been keeping me pretty busy. I have to remind myself that the food addiction is why I started this. But truthfully, that part's gotten really easy. I don't even get hungry sometimes! If I do get munchies, I reach for the pork rinds (0 carbs), and it's enough. But food's just not as big an issue as it was a few months ago. Don't get me wrong, I still love to cook. But I can cook stuff like mashed potatoes and biscuits and waffles and stuff like that for the kids, and not crave it; I'm not even tempted to sneak anything. Still undecided on a target weight. I was going for 230, but my wife says I could even try for 200. (I'm 6'2", BTW) | | Wednesday, January 30th, 2008 | | 10:16 pm |
Weigh-in day today
Wow...2 1/2 months on the diet and still going strong. We've had to cut our exercises out temporarily while we wait for Teh Playg to finish kickin' our butts. Please tigsquire and psaltrychic take the necessary precautions tomorrow plzthnks! Good news: the scale now reads 292.5 I had hoped I'd break 300 by month's end. And I did. :D | | Sunday, January 27th, 2008 | | 10:31 am |
This mean I gotta Walk Like An Egyptian?
ganked from mindymoon Your Score: Hieroglyphics You scored You are Egyptian Hieroglyphics! Monumental, ornate and even in technicolour! Your users contributed virtually all ancient knowledge on inks, dyes and writing surfaces - to the point where the popular reed of Papyrus became the universal name for organic, manufactured writing surfaces in the western hemisphere for thousands of years. Proud, upstanding and dignified.

One month in...
And I had to check the calendar, 'cause I couldn't believe that when I wrote it. One month of low-carbing. I feel good, and folks have noticed that mindymoon and I are starting to lose weight. Probably would lose more with increased exercise (which is the next step). I'm still waiting for the time I can look at a box of cookies or a bag of chips and not sigh inwardly before I move on. But that, so far, is the best part: I can move on. This is working. It will continue to work. I wonder how different I will look to my family, when they move out here in five months? Speaking of family...My family and I have just finished Season 1 of Supernatural. And, yes, in case you're wondering, we are officially hooked. (and the gag reel is Hi-larious!) Re: the diet...
Three weeks in... and an inch off the waist. I'm now past the 'detox' phase, and can now eat a little more normal. I can have up to 40 grams of carbs a day. And I have no desire to max that out every day. I'm feeling good about how this is going. | | Saturday, December 1st, 2007 | | 10:49 am |

Teh Dumb: I has it
Yesterday, I was making the traditional post-Thanksgiving turkey 'n' sides for my family. Took the glass baking dish with the thawed turkey out of the fridge, set it on the stove, put the turkey in the roasting pan, buttered and salted it, and put the giblets in a small pot, set it on the stove, and turned on the back burner...or so I thought. I got out the makings of the sausage stuffing, and took a step out of the kitchen to ask mindymoon for help, when we hear from the kitchen: SMASH!!!!!!!! I look at the kitchen; there's glass everywhere, on the floor, on the stove, on the counter. At first I thought a light fixture burst, or something. Nope. I turned the front burner on, not the rear. The front burner...where I had left the baking dish. It 'sploded. OMGWTFBBQ????????? Ir was one of the expensive pans, too, they cost around 40 bucks. So the turkey got in the oven a little late due to cleaning up shattered pyrex. The dish said it was oven and dishwater safe...but apparently not stove. Last night's acid test...
...Otherwise known as Thanksgiving Dinner on a low-carb diet. Actually, it was easier than I thought it would be. We found a few low-carb desserts (thanks for the books, robinskij!), so we could actually have some, and not have to look at the table and sigh. And since it's the two-week mark, we are allowed to up our carb intake a little. Matter of fact, mindymoon and I were actually full after the first plate. I also managed to check the 'more reliable' scale I've mentioned. 323. Down from 331. Cravings are controllable, don't feel the need to eat every half-hour, it takes less to fill me up, I'm not falling asleep from sugar crashes in the middle of the day...and 8 pounds lighter. Methinks it's working. :) Current Mood: hopefulCurrent Music: Jimmy Joyce Singers - This is Christmas | | 4:46 pm |
